Yahara River Chorus Membership

The Yahara River Chorus holds weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:30 pm. Rehearsals are held at:

If you are interested in singing four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style with a group of fabulous women, please contact our Membership Coordinator, Nancy Thalacker (email: nlewellyn@gmail.com ; phone: 608-843-4807). We just might be the activity you're looking for. All of us have the same passion: We love to sing!

If you're new to singing four part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style, the four parts are:

1) Tenor - They sing the high notes (it's harmony, not the melody!).
2) Lead - They sing the melody (well, most of the time--on occasion, one of the other parts will take over the melody for a few measures or lines).
3) Baritone - They sing all the notes needed in between the other voices to fill in that 4-part harmony.
4) Bass - They sing the low notes.
